Thorsten Frings received a two-match ban from FIFA’s Disciplinary Committee for a possible punch against Argentina’s Julio Cruz. But Julio Cruz said in a interview he has not been hit. Well. If Frings did punch him, the ban is ok. But banning him even if Cruz says there was no punch? That’s like getting off your driver license for fast driving even if the police checks and says the speed was in limits, but the court says “He had his foot on the gas and could have been driving too fast”. Now the match Germany vs. Italy will take place without Frings. The question: Who could be afraid of Germany to influence FIFA’s decision in this case?
